From September 2014, all children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 will be able to have free school meals if they wish to. The parents of older children, if they are on a low income, are encouraged to apply to the Local Authority for free school meals. Dinner money can be paid weekly or termly, in advance. The current cost of a school meal is £2.00 per day or £10 a week.
Parents need to let the school know what their child’s lunch requirements are, and are asked to give a week‘s notice of any change, to help the planning and provision of meals.
Children may bring a packed lunch in a suitable lunch box, which should also include a cold drink. We encourage parents to provide a healthy balanced lunch. Glass containers, cans and hot drinks are not allowed for safety reasons.
Children keep their water bottles with them during the school day and are encouraged to drink water. We provide each child with a water bottle free of charge.
Children receive free milk every day.
All Children receive fruit at break time.
